¼ cup olive oil
1 2½-3lb ready-to-cook broiler fryer chicken cut up
2 medium onions, cut in ¼ " slices
2 cloves garlic
1 1lb can (2 cups) tomatoes
1 8oz can seasoned tomato sauce
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
½ tsp celery seed
1 tsp crushed oregano or basil
1-2 bay leaves
¼ cup cooking sauterne

Directions:
Directions:
Heat olive oil in skillet; add chicken pieces; brown slowly, turning once.
Remove chicken from skillet; cook onions and garlic in oil until tender but not brown.
Combine remaining ingredients, except cooking wine.
Return chicken to skillet, add sauce mixture.
Cover and simmer 45 minutes.
Stir in cooking wine.
Cook uncovered, turning occasionally, 20 minutes or til fork tender.
Remove bay leaves; skim off excess fat.
Serve chicken with sauce ladled over.
