1) Measure how many blueberries you have. Put the blueberries in a bowl and submerge them in water. Clean out the berries and put them in a strainer. 2) Prepare your canning jars in sterilizing them and your lids in simmering warm water. 3) Pour your uncrushed blueberries in a cooking stockpot or jelly making pot if you have one. 4) Pour sugar on top of the berries. 5) Pour the cups of water on top - now mix the whole thing. 6) Put on medium high heat and bring to a boiling point (stir constantly) - you'll have a foam forming on top. Once this happens then turn it down to a medium and simmer them for 10-15 minutes. NOT TO LONG BECAUSE IT WILL TURN INTO PRESERVES. 7) The shut it off ... and stir it. 8) Get your prepared jars ready for filling. Clean the rim of your jars with a paper towel dipped in hot water. 9). Fill to 1/4 inch headspace. 10) Water bath method time it for 25 minutes. |
