1 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup sugar
2-1/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º

Beat butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg and beat well. Stir in flour and salt.

Press through a cookie press, or form into small balls (if using the small balls of dough, place them 2" apart on cookie sheet and press with a fork a little. Bake fo 6-9 minutes, depending on size. Cookies are done when the edges just begin to brown. Remove to cooling racks, store in an airtight container.

NOTE: You can sprinkle with candy sprinkles before baking, if desired.
