2 tablespoons oil
1/2 onion, minced
1 clove garlic, minced
1 large carrot, chopped small
2 potatoes, chopped small
2 1/4 cups cooked chickpeas
1 can San Marzano tomatoes (whole, plain)
4 cups water
1/2 teaspoon basil
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
Pinch hot pepper flakes
1 1/2 cups cooked small pasta

Directions:

1.In a large pot add olive oil, minced onion, and garlic and sautee on low/medium heat for 2 minutes.
2.Add potatoes, carrot, chickpeas, tomatoes, water and spices simmer on low/medium until tender and thickened, about 30 minutes.
In the last 15 minutes cook the pasta until al dente then drain well.
3.Remove half the cooked soup and all the tomatoes and blend until smooth, return to the pot, add the pasta and serve.
