Ingredients:	Ingredients: 3 squares chocolate or 9 Tbsp. plus 3 Tbsp. butter 1 cup butter, softened 2 1/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 cup buttermilk 3 cups cake flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. baking powdered 1/2 tsp. salt 5 eggs, separated 1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:	Directions: Melt chocolate. Cream butter and sugar and add cooled chocolate. Alternately add buttermilk and sifted dry ingredients, mixing well after each addition. Add well beaten egg yolks and vanilla. Fold in egg whites that have been stiffly beaten. Pour into greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350º for 30-35 minutes. This makes 3 cakes. Frost with chocolate frosting.

Personal Notes:	Personal Notes: This makes 3 - 8” or 9” round cakes, or a 10” x 14” cake. For a more chocolatey cake, use 4 squares of chocolate or 12 TBSP. unsweetened cocoa + 4 TBSP butter. We like Raspberry Filling in the middle. Recipe in this section.
