9 inch pie shell
3 eggs room temperature
1/2 c butter softened
1 1/2 c sugar
3 T flour
1 c buttermilk
2 tea vanilla
1/4 tea nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Beat eggs till foamy. Beat in butter, sugar, and flour till fluffy. Add remaining ingredients and mix till smooth. Bake for 45-55 minutes at 350 degrees

To change it up instead of vanilla use the zest and juice of a lemon.

On one of my many trips to Okla City for chemo we ate at Cracker Barrel ( Dan’s favorite). The buttermilk pie was on the menu so me being a pie person I tried it. Well it quickly became my favorite. And that is saying a lot.
