German Pancakes or (Dutch Baby) Recipe

3large eggs
4 Tbutter divided
1/2 c buttermilk
1/4 tea salt
1/2 tea cinnamon
2 T sugar
1 tea vanilla
1 c flour

Syrup
1 c sugar
1/2 c buttermilk
1/2 c butter
1 tea baking soda
1 tea vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 4 T butter in 9 inch cast iron or 9x13 pan. Beat eggs well, add buttermilk, salt, cinnamon, sugar, 3 T melted butter, and vanilla. Mix well, add flour and just mix to incorporate flour. Do not overbeat. Pour into skillet and bake at 350 degrees until eggs are not shiny. It will bubble up and turn light brown.
Syrup
In a 3 quart or larger pan add sugar, buttermilk, butter, and boil for 7 minutes or till a rich golden color, stirring constantly, it will burn. Remove from heat and add vanilla, add baking soda and mix well.
To serve: cut pancakes, pour syrup over top and sprinkle powdered sugar over top.
