6 cups cubed Turnips (or rutabaga)
2 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
3 Tbsp Flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp pepper
tsp salt
Pinch nutmeg optional

fine crumbs
2 Tbsp melted butter





Directions:
Directions:
Cook turnip until tender. Drain & mash. Add butter & egg. Beat well (can be done a day ahead). Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt & pepper & nutmeg. Stir. Add to the buttered casserole. Combine crumbs and butter and sprinkle on top.

Bake in oven 345 degrees for 25 minutes until lightly brown on top.
