2½ c sugar
2½ squares of unsweetened chocolate OR 2½ T cocoa
¼ tsp salt
1 c milk
2 T light corn syrup

2½ T butter
½ tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Add sugar, chocolate, salt, milk, and corn syrup to pot. Bring slowly to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 25 minutes. If you have a candy thermometer it should be around 235-240º or Soft Ball Stage. See the chart at the beginning of this section.
Take off the heat, and stir in butter and vanilla. Mix well.
Pour into large greased plate or baking dish.
Break or cut when cool.
