1 C butter
2½ C brown sugar
Dash of salt
1 C light corn syrup
1-15 oz can sweetened condensed milk
1 tsp vanilla
½ C nuts, chopped fine (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in heavy 3 quart saucepan. Add brown sugar and salt, stirring until thoroughly combined. Blend in the corn syrup, and gradually add milk, stirring over medium heat until it reaches firm ball stage (245⁰).

Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and nuts.

Pour into a parchment lined 9x9 pan. Let cool thoroughly. Cut into small squares and wrap individually in wax paper or put into candy bags with twist ties.
