9 oz. bleached cake flour
12¼ oz, sugar
1¼ tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. baking soda
½ tsp. table salt
½ cup buttermilk
4 large eggs
2 egg yolks
1 tbsp. vanilla
1 stick butter
½ cup vegetable oil

Directions:

Mix all dry ingredients together in a bowl. In a separate bowl blend wet ingredients together. Cube softened butter and vegetable oil into dry ingredients, will look like cookie dough, Scrape down sides of bowl to ensure everything is mixing evenly. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients on low speed and blend well. Scrape beater and sides of bowl, increase speed to medium high and mix 3 minutes till light and fluffy, Pour into 9" x13" greased and floured cake pan. Tap on countertop about 5 times to get rid of air bubbles. Bake in 350º oven for 28-32 minutes until toothipick inserted comes out clean. Cool cake 2 hours.

Use both oil & butter so cake is not so dry. Bleached flour results in a lighter cake.
