2 c sugar
1 tsp soda
1 c buttermilk
2 1/2 c pecans, chopped
2/3 c pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, soda and buttermilk. Cook on high heat stirring constantly for 5 minutes. Add butter and chopped pecans. Cook on high heat, stirring constantly for another 5 minutes. Continue cooking until mixture makes a soft ball when dropped in a cup of water. Remove from heat and beat until thick and creamy. Drop by spoonful on wax paper and press pecan halve on top.
