2 C flour
1 T. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 C sugar
5 T. cold/frozen butter (grated)
1/2 C dried cranberries (optional)
Zest of one orange
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 T. orange juice
1/4-1/2 C heavy cream

Directions:
Directions:
Stir together dry ingredients.

Add butter, cranberries & orange zest and mix.

Add egg, vanilla, orange juice & heavy cream & mix.

On floured board, form dough into a ball, flatten somewhat and fold 3-4 times (don't knead).

Place dough on parchment lined cookie sheet and flatten to 3/4" diameter.

Paint with heavy cream and sprinkle with coarse sugar.

Cut into 8-10 wedges and bake for 10-15 minutes.

Dad (grandpa) makes these scones and the grandkids love them! Madeline and Spencer prefer them without the cranberries.
