1 c. sugar
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
3/4 c. light cream or half and half
1/4 t. salt
2 T. butter
1 t. vanilla
1 c. pecans, coarsely chopped

Directions:
Directions:
Butter sides of a heavy 2qt. saucepan. Place sugars, cream and salt in saucepan. Cook over low heat stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Turn heat to medium and cook until mixture boils. Reduce heat and continue cooking to 234⁰. Remove from heat add butter and vanilla, do not stir. Cool 5 minutes. Stir in nuts. Beat until candy loses gloss and becomes thick, about 2 minutes. Quickly spoon candy mixture by teaspoonfuls onto buttered cookie sheets. If mixture gets to thick, to drop from spoon add hot water, a teaspoonful at a time.
