4 c all-purpose flour
1/2 c sugar
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 c butter, cold
1 egg
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c sour cream, plain yogurt, or heavy whipping cream
1 c milk

About 2 tbsp milk and 1 tbsp sugar, for brushing and sprinkling

Preheat oven to 400ºF. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Stir together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
Grate in the cold butter and rub mixture between fingers until butter is incorporated and
mixture is crumbly. Make a well in the center.
Whisk together creamer, milk, egg, and vanilla and pour into dry mixture.
Stir with a fork until no large lumps of flour remain.
Pat gently onto floured surface and cut into scones using round cookie cutter, or a knife for wedges.
Brush with milk and lightly sprinkle with sugar before baking.
Adjust baking time based on the size of scone you choose. For 2 1/2-inch rounds, it's about 15 minutes.
Scones should be slightly golden brown on the outside.
Serve with whipped cream, berries, and/or lemon curd.
