2 cans white navy beans
2 cans pinto beans
1-2 tablespoons canned jalapeno peppers or may substitute Rotel tomatoes
2 cans (6 3/4 ounces) Hormel smoked, chunk ham in a can, broken up
2 large onions
1 medium green pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
3 cups chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Saute onion and bell pepper in butter. Reserve 1/4 of each can of beans for mashing to thicken the soup, optional. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours.
Serve with sour cream, tortilla chips, grated cheese. Freezes well. May make 1/2 of the recipe.
