1 cups flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup sugar
cup brown sugar
1 Tablespoon cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
cup oil
3 eggs
2 cups peeled, chopped apples (tart apples are best)
cup chopped nuts (pecans are best, walnuts are good too)

Mix in a large bowl; flour, whole wheat flour, sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, salt and baking soda. Add oil, eggs and vanilla mix well. Add apples and nuts. Batter is VERY thick; it will not pour. Spoon batter into pan.

Bake 50-65 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.

Cool 15 minutes on cooling rack then turn onto plate, cool completely

Drizzle with icing below:

cup powdered sugar
teaspoon vanilla
3-4 teaspoons milk for consistency
