1 12 oz chili sauce
1 14 oz bottle catsup
2 tsp brown mustard
3 tsp prepared horseradish
2 tsp dried parsley
5 oz honey
2 tbsp dark molasses
¾ cup brown sugar
2 beef bouillon cubes
1 tbsp dried minced onion
1 tbsp dried vegetable flakes
⅛ tsp paprika
1 tbsp vinegar
Dash of thyme
Dash of cayenne pepper
2 dashes Tabasco sauce
½ tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp dry vermouth or white wine
½ cup water

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in saucepan and simmer 30 minutes to thicken slightly. ( Mom added a bit of water to the chili and catsup bottles to get all of the contents out)
Change any of the seasonings to suit your taste. You may prefer sauce sweeter or spicier. Keeps well in the refrigerator.

The recipe listed an ingredient: 1 tsp barbecue sauce. Not sure why we would add barbecue sauce to barbecue sauce. I think it is a typo. Also, not sure you can purchase vegetable flakes anymore. As an alternative, Stubbs Barbecue Sauce is very good!
