Oriental Sauce


Ingredients:

1 ½ c. Chicken broth
3 Tbsp Soy Sauce (La Choy)
3 heaping teaspoons Cornstarch
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Distilled White Vinegar
Dash of White or Black Pepper

1 ½ c. uncooked Calrose Sushi Rice (for serving with the patties)

Add all sauce ingredients in a 2 c. measuring cup or bowl and set aside.

Start cooking the rice in a pot or rice cooker according to the package directions.
It takes 20 minutes to cook on the stovetop.


 

Turkey Patties

Ingredients:  
1 lb. pkg Ground Turkey (Turkey Store Jennie-0 extra lean)
⅓ c. Fine Italian Style seasoned dry bread crumbs
1 Egg
¾ tsp Garlic Powder

2 Tbsp Oil for cooking patties and sauteing celery and onion
2 stalks Celery, sliced thin
1 small Onion, diced

Directions:
Mix turkey, bread crumbs, egg, and garlic salt in a bowl. Form into 6 thin patties.

1. Heat ½ Tbsp oil in a skillet over medium heat.
2. Using 3 patties, sauté for 3 minutes on each side, until browned.
3. Set cooked patties aside.
4. Repeat steps 1 - 3 with the remaining 3 patties.

Heat last Tbsp oil in the skillet over medium heat.
Sauté celery and onion for 5 minutes.
Place patties around the skillet on top of sautéed vegetables (one in the center, 5 around the edge).

Re-stir the Oriental Sauce that was set aside.
Pour over the patties.
Bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer 20 minutes, until meat and veggies are fully cooked.

Serve over cooked rice.
