1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tsp cream of tartar1˝ flour
˝cup shortening
˝ tsp soda
1 cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugar and egg (beat at high speed for 4 min.)

In a separate bowl, mix soda, cream of tartar and flour. Add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in raisins.

Shape into balls about size of walnut. Place on greased cookie sheet and flatten with bottom of a glass. Bake 400° for 8 to 10 minutes.
