1 cup suet
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup raw carrot, grated
1 cup raw potato, grated
1 cup raisins
1 cup currants
1 egg
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Blue Ribbon baking soda
1 tsp. Blue Ribbon extract or juice of one lemon
½ cup flour
½ tsp. Blue Ribbon cinnamon
½ tsp. Blue Ribbon cloves
½ tsp. Blue Ribbon nutmeg
2 tbsps. sour milk (enough to make a drop batter)

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together and put in jars. Steam in jars ensuring the jar is completely covered with water for about 3 hours.
