¾ cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
½ cup vinegar
⅔ cup salad oil
1 tbsp. mustard seed
1 large cabbage, shredded
2 carrots, grated
1 medium onion, finely chopped
¼ green pepper, finely chopped (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In a large bowl, mix cabbage, carrots, onion and green pepper; set aside. In a saucepan, heat sugar, salt, vinegar, salad oil and mustard seed. Bring to a boil and then while sauce is hot, pour over vegetable mixture and mix well. Seal in jars. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving. This will keep in the fridge 4-6 weeks.
