These cooking times are for fresh dried beans that have not been soaked
(water:beans ratio)

Adzuki: 10 minutes (3:1)
Black: 30 minutes (3:1)
Kidney: 35 minutes (2:1)
Navy: 25 minutes (2:1)
Pinto: 35 minutes (2.5:1)

In general, I find beans need 2-3 times the amount of water.
4 ounces of kidney/pinto beans is similar to a can of beans.
