7 rounding tsp. cracker crumbs
2 tsp. baking powder
2 scant C. sugar
6 eggs (beaten separately)
1 C. dates cut fine
1 C. nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Beat yolks of eggs until thick, add sugar and beat. Mix baking powder with cracker crumbs and stir into egg mixture. Add the dates and nuts and mix. Last, beat whites of eggs until stiff and fold into mixture. Bake in slow oven 325º for 1 hour.

This recipe was the Trull's traditional dessert at Christmas. After cooling, Mother broke it up and served it in a stemmed dessert glass with a dollop of whipped cream.
