3 lbs. sauerkraut
2 lbs. smoked pork chops
4 oz. bacon
1 lb. potatoes

Directions:
Arrange sauerkraut and smoked pork in layers in a stewing pan, ending with a layer of thinly sliced bacon. Cover with water. Put on lid and simmer gently for about 1½ hours or until the meat is tender. When the cabbage is cooked, there should not be much liquid left in the dish. Boil potatoes separately. Spoon the cabbage and the meat into a dish, place the boiled potatoes around it and pour over the liquid in which the cabbage has been cooked.
