6 potatoes, peeled & thinly sliced
5 T butter
5 T flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
¼ tsp pepper
4 c milk
1/3 c chopped onion

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in saucepan, blend in flour, salt & pepper. 10Cook until smooth & bubbly. Stir in milk, heat to boiling, boil 1 minute stirring constantly. Stir in chopped onions.

Layer ½ of sliced potatoes in casserole dish. Cover with ½ of sauce, repeat with remaining potatoes & sauce. Dot with butter. Cover & bake at 350 for 1 hour. Uncover & continue to bake until top is lightly browned, about 20 minutes. Let stand 20-30 minutes before serving.
