"As I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy, and to make plans."--Ernest Hemingway

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Grandma (Thelma Bell Kenyon Gasper) always added 2 Cups of Dried Fruit and used this as her Fruitcake recipe at Christmas time.

Note: Thelma Bell Kenyon Gasper got the name Grandma Turkey from her Great Grandson Brandon Lee Hartwell. Grandma always came to Texas for Thanksgiving after her daughter, (Tarry Gasper Hartwell) moved to Texas in 1977. At two years old he was saying Grandma Kirky ... by three years old when she came down, he called her Grandma Turkey.
