2 cups sliced yellow onions
1 1/2- 1 3/4 lb. flank steak or beef bottom round steak, cut across the grain into -6 portions 13/ lb.
1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup soy sauce
2 T packed dark brown sugar or maple syrup
1 T rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar
1 T grated fresh ginger or equivalent of dried ginger
5 cloves garlic, minced
1 T cornstarch
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
Toasted sesame seeds (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Place onions and meat in slow cooker. In a small bowl, mix broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, ginger, and garlic; pour over meat mixture. Cover; cook on low 8-10 hours. Remove meat, reserving onion and liquid in cooker. Cover meat to keep warm.
In a small bowl combine 3 T cold water and the cornstarch. Mix into liquid in slow cooker. Turn heat setting to high. Add broccoli. Cover; cook about 15 minutes more or until cooking liquid is thickened and bubbly and broccoli is crisp-tender. Slice meat thinly across the grain. Stir into broccoli mixture. If desired, top with sesame seeds. Serve over rice or Chinese noodles.
