3/4 stick softened margarine
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 T rum
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 T anise seed
2 cups flour
2 t baking powder

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together in bowl: margarine, sugar, eggs, rum, vanilla, and anise seed. Add flour and baking powder. Chill dough 1 hour or more. Divide dough into 2 equal parts, roll on flavored board into 2 logs. Place on greased cookie sheet. Bake 325 about 35 minutes. Cut diagonally while still hot. Return to oven on same cookie sheet "cut-side" down. Toast for about 12 minutes.
