Ingredients:
Filling
8 peeled and cored Granny Smith apple
½ cups butter
¼ cup water
½ cup brown sugar
3 T flour
½ cup sugar

Topping
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup flour
¼ cup butter

Directions:
Directions:
Prepare a single pie crust and add eight peeled, cored and sliced Granny Smith apples. In a pan heat butter, water, sugars and flour. Pour HALF over apples. Reserve other half of mixture for top of pie.

For the crumble top -- mix ½ cup brown sugar, 1 cup flour flour and ¼ cup flour. Pour crumble over apples then put the pie in the oven for five minutes -- or long enough to melt part of the topping. Then pour the rest of the reserved sauce over the pie. This is very important because if you try to pour it when the topping is not partially melted the sauce will roll off and you will have a huge mess! Bake at 450º for 15 minutes then lower to 350º for 30 to 40 minutes.
