3/4 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 stick butter
1/2 cup warm water
2 packages Fleischmann's yeast
1 egg
3 1/2 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water.

Heat milk in the microwave until lukewarm, add butter, sugar and salt.

Add milk mixture and egg to yeast.

Stir in 2 cups of flour. Beat until smooth.

Stir in enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.

Put dough in a greased bowl; let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).

Punch down and shape into 2 dozen rolls (grease hands with butter to prevent sticking).

Place rolls in buttered muffin cups.

Let rise until doubled (about 30 minutes).

Preheat oven to 400º. Bake for about 15 minutes.

Carol's family grew up with these. Grandma made them for special occasions. We called them Top Knot because she would roll the extra dough in little balls and them on top of the rolls.
