1 large head cabbage shaved as thin as possible (or) 2 pkg of Angel Hair cabbage (about 8 cups)
1 large bell pepper, sliced thin
1 purple onion, sliced thin

Dressing:
2 cloves garlic
1 T. Sugar
1 T. Salt
1 tsp. paprika
1 ½ c. Vinegar
¾ c. oil

Directions:
Directions:
Mash garlic and spices together and add vinegar and oil. Mix well. Place pepper and onions in the bottom of the bowl. Pour some of the dressing over them. Put cabbage on top. Cover and keep in a cool place until time to serve. Toss the mixture at the last minute with more dressing. (You will have more dressing than you need)

Grandmother gave out several versions of this recipe, so any way you want to adjust the amounts is probably OK. Some like less vinegar or more or less sugar. Suit yourself. This recipe came from the Arlington Hotel in Hot Springs, AR via "Dearie" - Pauline (grandmother) Eagleton's mother. It has been a family tradition for a long time.
