Ingredients:  
2 cups white sugar
1 1/2 cups corn syrup
1 cup water
1 tsp peppermint extract
Red food colouring

Directions:
Directions:
Boil sugar, syrup, water
Stirring constantly until sugar dissolves
Continue over tow heat without stirring, bring to hard ball stage (260º F)
Remove from heat, stir in peppermint
Pour 1/2 mixture into 8” buttered pan
Add food colouring to remaining mixture, pour into separate buttered pan
Cool enough to handle
Butter hands and pull candy (like taffy), until satiny appearance
Pull into coils, twist red and white together in long strips, cut and shape. Cool
