Sugar Cookie

1 3/4 c Granulated Sugar
1 c Lard (slightly softened)
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla (some lemon flavor too if desired)
1 c Buttermilk
3 1/2 c Flour
1 tsp Soda
3 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, add sugar and cream together. Then add eggs and vanilla. Mix 1/2 tsp of the baking soda into the buttermilk. Sift flour, other 1/2 tsp of soda, baking powder, and salt. Then alternately add buttermilk and sifted dry ingredients to the creamed ingredients starting with the buttermilk. use right away or cool bout 1 hour. Drop by the spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º 10-12min
 

Chocolate

1/2 c Granulated Sugar
1 c Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp Vanilla
2 1/4 c Flour
1 tsp Soda
3/4 tsp Salt
1/2 c Chopped Nuts
1pkg Chocolate Bits

Cream shortening & sugar together. Then add eggs & vanilla. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Then add dry ingredients to the creamed ingredients, and stir in the nuts & Chocolate bits. Use right away or cool bout 1 hour. Drop by the spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º 10-12min
 

Pineapple

1/2 c Brown Sugar
2 Eggs
1/2 tsp Vanilla
4 c Flour
1 tsp Soda
1/2 tsp Salt
2 tsp Baking Powder
1/2 c Chopped Nuts (Optional)
1/2 c Crushed Pineapple

Cream shortening & sugar together. Then add eggs & vanilla. Sift flour, soda, baking powder, and salt. Then add dry ingredients to the creamed ingredients, and stir in the nuts & pineapple. Use right away or cool bout 1 hour. Drop by the spoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400º 10-12min
