Ingredients: 3 small pones of cornbread 5 pieces of white bread 2 c. chopped onions 2 c. chopped celery 1 stick of butter 1 qt. chicken broth

Directions: |
Directions:1. Preheat oven to 350º.
2. Cook the 3 pones of cornbread. I use Martha White Cotton Picking Cornbread mix. Instead of water, I use buttermilk and add an egg.
3. Once the cornbread is done, crumble cornbread and white bread into pieces and let sit for several hours to become somewhat stale.
3. Melt the butter in a large pan. Add onions and celery; saute until the onions are cooked and the celery is soft.
4. Add and mix the onions and celery to the stale bread and mix. Stir in chicken broth. Bake in a pre-greased 9x13 casserole dish for 40 minutes. |

Notes: Note: I always add one bunch of green onions to the onion mixture. It gives it color and a slightly different taste.
