2 cups sifted flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
⅓ cup Crisco
¾ cup whole milk
2 teaspoons cinnamon
½ cup sugar
2 tablespoons butter

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425º.

Sift dry ingredients into a bowl. Cut in shortening until texture of oatmeal. Remove one cup of this to a small bowl and blend with milk to form a smooth paste. Add paste to Crisco mixture and mix enough to hold dough together.

Transfer to lightly floured board and knead lightly. Roll out to 10 x 18 inch oblong. Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, and dot with butter. Roll up and seal. Slice into one inch pieces.

Place on greased baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, until golden brown on top.

This recipe comes from my Grandma Dot, who made it every Thanksgiving. It was one of my favorites as a kid growing up, so I scanned this recipe from a family cookbook and have kept it around for decades.
