1 c. sugar
3 c. flour
⅔ c. shortening
3 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs
½ tsp. salt
⅓ c. milk

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients in order given, sifting the flour with the baking powder and salt before adding it.

Roll thin, cut, and put in greased pans. Place a tsp. of filling on each, not allowing it to spread to the edge. Place another cookie on top, press down the edges, and bake at 350º in shallow pans in a quick oven for 10 to 15 minutes.

FILING: ½ c. sugar, 1 c. raisings, dates, apricots, figs, prunes, cherries, crushed pineapple, or marmalade. Thicken with mixture of cornstarch and water.
