Ingredients:
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1¼ cups shortening or lard
1 tsp salt
1 Egg
1 tsp vinegar
5 Tbl ice water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and salt. Cut shortening into flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Beat the egg, water and vinegar together; add to the flour/shortening mixture until just blended. Divide dough into 3 equal parts.

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.Roll out dough 1/8-inch thick (be careful not to stretch the dough), place into pie dish and flute the edges.

To bake the pie shell without filling, pierce the bottom and sides with a fork and bake for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Let cool slightly.

Makes 3 crusts. This dough keeps in the refrigerator for 3 days or may be frozen indefinitely. If you freeze the dough, double wrap it in plastic and foil. Defrost completely at room temperature before rolling out.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
When Grandma Hall lived in Norton Kansas, she had several fruit trees in her backyard. Apple, peach and cherry. Each grandchild had a bucket and we would pick our favorite fruit (mine was cherry). She would take our buckets and bake each of us our own little pie with the fruit we had picked.
