1lb. flank or skirt steak, cut in narrow strips
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1 lb. broccoli florets
1/4 cup water
2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1/2 onion. chopped
1 stalk celery, chopped
8 oz. mushrooms, sliced
3 garlic cloves thinly sliced
1/2 tsp. grated ginger

Place beef strips in a non metallic bowl and sprinkle with baking soda, gently tossing to thoroughly coat. Set aside for 15 minutes then rinse extremely well and pat dry with paper towels.

In non-stick skillet over medium high heat, add 1/4 cup boiling water and broccoli. Cover and steam for about 2 minutes or until all water is just about evaporated. Transfer broccoli to a plate.

In oil, sauté onion, celery and mushrooms for about 3-5 minutes. Add beef and cook without touching for 1 minute. Add garlic and ginger and mix all together. Add broccoli and toss all with about 1/3 - 1/2 bottle of sauce. Serve over rice.
