1 cup butter flavored Crisco
½ cup sugar
2 eggs
2 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1-14ounce bag caramels
2 Tablespoon water
½ cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Beat shortening, sugars, eggs, vanilla in a large bowl. Add flour, baking soda and salt. Stir in chocolate ships. Spread half in bottom of pan, Combine caramels and water in small saucepan heat over low heat, stir until caramels melt. Spread over dough to within ½ inch from edge. Spoon remaining dough over caramel mixture, spread carefully bake at 350º degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
