3/4 c. butter, softened
1 3/4 c. flour
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 t. baking powder
1 t. vanilla
1/4 t. baking soda
3/4 t. cinnamon
2 c. old fashioned rolled oats
Optional; 1 1/2 c. raisins or nuts

Cream butter, sugars, egg and vanilla. Slowly add the rest of the ingredients. Drop by rounded spoonfuls 2 inches apart on parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 375º for 10-12 minutes.

Making cookies is always a bit of a challenge in the Watson household. Jeff loves crispy cookies and the rest of us like them soft. This is a good basic recipe, you can add chocolate chips or butterscotch chips but why ruin a perfectly good cookie?
