1.5 cups of maple syrup
3/4 cp of water
2 tbsp butter ---- sauce ingredients

1 cp flour
1.5 tsp of baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cp sugar
1 tbsp shortening
1 egg beaten
2/3 cp milk
1/2 cp coconut

Directions:
Directions:
IN a pot put sauce ingredients - syrup, water and bring to boil remove from heat and add butter.

Cream sugar, shortening, egg together add dry ingredients and pour into greased pa. Then pour sauce over slowly - cake will start to float. Then sprinkle coconut on top.

Bake 350 for 35 minutes or golden brown.

Serve with ice cream. Sooo good!
