Ingredients: ¼ cup Flour
1 (10.5-oz can) Beef broth/Stock
2T. Sugar ( I perfer a savory sauce, I usually omit sugar)
2 T. Soy Sauce
1 lb. Sirloin Steak or Round Steak, cut into bite sized pieces & dried of any excess moisture
¼ t. Fresh Ginger Root, chopped (Best option but, you can use 1 t. of ground ginger)
2 garlic cloves, minced
4 cups Broccoli, trimmed into bite size pieces
Red Pepper Flakes, optional
*I usually double this recipe.*

Directions:1. In a small bowl combine flour, broth, sugar, soy sauce, pepper flakes if using. Stir until sugar and flour are dissolved.
2. Make sure & get all ingredients prepped and at hand the cooking process is short and speedy!
3. In a large skillet or wok over high heat cook beef in batches, so you don't over crowd the pan & end up boiling the meat. Your looking for a crisp browning of the outside. Remove from pan & set aside as the batches are done.
4. Stir in broth mixture making sure all gets into pan, mixture tends to separate with the flour staying at the bottom of the bowl. Add in ginger, garlic, and broccoli. Add the beef back in & bring to boil.
5. Reduce heat and simmer 5-10 minutes or until sauce thickens.
6. Serve over rice, I use Jasmine Rice. |
