5-6 medium potatoes... red, white, or yellow
heavy whipping cream
1/2 stick butter
salt
pepper
(garlic powder for garlic smashed potatoes)

Directions:
Directions:
Wash and peel potatoes. (Leave skin on red potatoes)
Place in medium size pot and cover with water. Cook on medium heat until tender. Drain in colander and dump back in pot along with 1/2 stick butter. Sprinkle lightly with salt and pepper. Cover with lid. Once butter is melted, dump potatoes into a large bowl. Smash well with a potato masher or use a mixer if no masher. Leave some chunks! Stir in heavy whipping cream, start with 1/2 cup and add more if needed. Will likely need more. Taste and add more seasoning if needed.
