3 tbsp butter
2 leeks - use green parts only clean well and slice thin
1 small garlic clove
1 1/2 lb butternut squash, peeled and diced
1 pear and or apple - peeled, cored and diced
1 potatoe peeled and cubed
4 cups chicken stock
1 tsp thyme, rosemary
1/2 cup whipping cream
salt and pepper to taste

Melt butt er and add leek and garlic clove. Wilted fragrant but do not brown. add squash, pear and or apple, potatoe. Cook for 5 minutes. Add chicken stock, thyme and rosemary. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat and simmer for 30-40 min. Puree everything in blender if need be in batches and return to saucepan. Should be smooth. Stir in cream and salt and pepper.
