1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg
1 1/4 cups flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup jam
Glaze:
2 Tbls butter
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 to 2 Tbls hot water

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Mix sugars, shortening, peanut butter, and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Reserve 1 cup of dough. Press remaining dough into an ungreased 9 x 13 pan. Spread with jam. Crumble reserved dough and sprinkle over the jam. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and drizzle with glaze. Cut into bars.
Directions for glaze: Heat butter until melted. Add powdered sugar and vanilla. Mix well. Add water one tsp at a time until smooth and of desired consistency.
