1 1/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 c butter
3 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp wheat germ
3 McIntosh apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
2 Pears, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
1 c sour cream
1/2 c brown sugar
1/4 c all purpose flour
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground cloves
2 tbsp brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
In a bowl, combine 1 1/4 c flour, butter, 3 tbsp brown sugar and wheat germ. Mix with pastry cutter until crumbly. Press mixture into a 8 inch square pan. Put apple and pear slices on top of crumb base. Beat sour cream, 1/2 c brown sugar, 1/4 c flour, cinnamon and cloves together. Pour sour cream mixture over top of fruit and spread to be sure all fruit is covered. Bake at 160ºC (325ºF) for one hour or until fruit is tender and filling is set. Sprinkle remaining 2 tbsp of brown sugar on baked filling, and return to oven for 5 min. Serve warm.
