3 cups (18 oz.) semi=sweet chocolate chips
1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk (NOT evaporated milk)
Dash of salt
1/2 to 1 cup chopped nuts, optional (but they add so much to the fudge)
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Butter a 9” square pan; set aside. In a microwave-safe bowl, add the chocolate chips, condensed milk and salt. Microwave just until the chips are melted. Remove. Stir in nuts and vanilla. Spread evenly into prepared pan. Chill two hours or until firm. Cut into squares and store in a cool place.

Shirley’s favorite variation: omit nuts and stir in 1/2 cup of peanut butter. Yum!
