In Kettle No. I
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

In Kettle No. 2
2 cups sugar
1 cup white syrup
1/2 cup water
Directions:
Directions:
Put the second kettle on to cook first. When about half done, put on the No. I Kettle.

Beat 3 egg whites until stiff and slowly add No. I kettle of syrup, after it spins a long thread or forms soft ball in cold water beating all the time you’re adding to egg whites.

When No. II Kettle has spinned a long thread, add it to egg mixture. Beat until it gets thick and add vanilla and nuts.
