Sauté 1 onion in butter with 2 bay leaves
Add 2 litres water and any meat (ham, sausage)
Bring to boil

While that is boiling
Peel and cube 4 medium potatoes
and bring to boil

Then add ¾ cups macaroni
salt and pepper
Boil until cooked

Then add 1/4 cup butter and cream
